LuckPerms

LuckPerms is a permissions plugin for Minecraft servers. It is used to create ranks, grant or revoke permissions, configure hierarchies, and control which commands or functions each player can use.

It is very useful for servers with ranks like User, VIP, Helper, Mod, Admin, or Owner.

What is it for?

With LuckPerms you can:

- Create ranks.
- Grant permissions to groups or users.
- Revoke permissions.
- Create hierarchies between ranks.
- Grant temporary ranks.
- Configure prefixes.
- Use a web editor to manage everything more easily.

Main command:

On Paper, Spigot, or Bukkit servers, use: /lp
In the console, use it without /: lp

Give yourself administrator permissions

Execute this from the console:

lp user TuNick permission set luckperms.* true

Replace TuNick with your name.

Create groups

/lp creategroup default
/lp creategroup vip
/lp creategroup helper
/lp creategroup mod
/lp creategroup admin
/lp creategroup owner

Create hierarchy

/lp group vip parent add default
/lp group helper parent add default
/lp group mod parent add helper
/lp group admin parent add mod
/lp group owner parent add admin

This way, higher ranks inherit permissions from previous ones.

Grant permissions to a group

Example to allow /spawn:

/lp group default permission set essentials.spawn true

Example to allow /fly to VIP:

/lp group vip permission set essentials.fly true

Example to grant moderation permissions:

/lp group mod permission set minecraft.command.kick true

Revoke permissions

/lp group vip permission unset essentials.fly

Grant a rank to a player

/lp user Nombre parent set vip

Example:

/lp user Demon parent set owner

Grant a temporary rank

Example: VIP for 30 days.

/lp user Nombre parent addtemp vip 30d

Prefixes

LuckPerms allows you to save prefixes for ranks. For them to appear in chat, you need a compatible chat plugin.

/lp group vip meta addprefix 100 "&a[VIP] "
/lp group mod meta addprefix 200 "&9[MOD] "
/lp group owner meta addprefix 500 "&4[OWNER] "

Web editor

LuckPerms has a very useful web editor to modify permissions from your browser.

/lp editor

Open the link, make the changes, and then apply the command provided by the page.

View information

View information for a user:

/lp user Nombre info

View permissions for a group:

/lp group vip permission info

Recommendations

• Do not give luckperms.* to normal users

• Use groups instead of giving permissions player by player

• Do not abuse permissions with *

• Create an organized hierarchy

• Use the web editor if you have many ranks

• Check each plugin's permissions carefully before adding them
